IRENA – Eliminating CO2 emissions from industry and transport in line with the 1.5° C climate goal

IRENA outlines how key energy-intensive transport and industry sectors – through the right plans and support – can be fully decarbonised by 2050, thereby supporting the objective to limit the rise in global temperatures to 1.5°C. This trajectory is made of global and widespread application of energy efficiency, renewable electricity expansion, the use of renewable heat and green fuels, as well as the development of green hydrogen and CO2 removal technologies.
