International Energy Agency – Energy Technology Perspectives 2020

The International Energy Agency (IEA) reaffirms that a greater use of clean electricity is central for the world’s decarbonization strategy, pushing ever more the use of solar, wind and other renewables. The current development of technologies leads to scenarios with substantial use of hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels that will become important when decarbonizing transportation with heavy trucks, aviation and shipping as well as the production of chemicals and steel.
