European Commission – Stepping up Europe’s 2030 climate ambition

The increase of the EU 2030 emission reduction target to “at least 55 percent” will be introduced as an amendment to the EU climate law. In the “policy scenario” renewable energies will reach a share of at least 60% in the European electricity mix by 2030.

The Impact Assessment outlines the policy actions required to achieve this goal and shows how all sectors of the economy and society can contribute to the ambition of the EU to become climate-neutral by 2050.
